This Wiltshire project involved the supply and installation of a Q-Railing balustrade system to the upper terrace of a newly built L-shaped home constructed from Bath stone. The house combines traditional materials with modern glazing and detailing, and the terrace provides an open space to enjoy the countryside views. Below the terrace at ground level we will enclose the space using our Solarlux cero sliding doors.
The balustrade installation was designed to provide a safe, open edge to the elevated terrace while maintaining light and transparency in line with the architecture of this modern family home.
The design is two-sided configuration uses Q-Railing’s fully tested glass balustrade system, finished with a slimline marine-grade round top rail and clean minimal detailing throughout.
Q-Railing. Designed for Safety with Contemporary Style
At the side of the terrace, the balustrade steps up in height to provide the protection typically delivered by a solid wall. This elevation allows for uninterrupted safety along the outer edge and protecting from falls to the ground. The use of Q-Railing here ensures full compliance with safety standards while preserving openness and light with the use of quality safety glass.
To the front of the terrace, a standard-height glass balustrade has been installed. Together, the two elevations maintain a consistent look while adapting to the practical needs of the first-flooor space. With its frameless glass appearance, this balustrade solution blends seamlessly with the Bath stone house and adds a contrasting contempory look.
