Beckington, Frome. Cero III Sliding Doors and Architectural Glazing

When you build a house like Woodruff’s, the glazing becomes one of the defining elements of the architecture. Set within almost two acres of mature grounds in the village of Wingfield near Bradford on Avon, this grand country home needed a glazing package capable of matching its scale, its proportion, and its position within the Avon Greenbelt. Qdos Homes designed the property to the highest standards, and our role at CBP was to ensure the windows and cero III sliding doors delivered the same level of quality, precision and long-term performance.

Sliding Doors, Bifold Doors, Windows and Front Doors

For the homeowners, the result is exactly what they wanted: a home defined by light, openness and precision. For us, it’s another example of how the right products, combined with the right technical understanding, can elevate a project far beyond standard glazing.

This is the type of project where our role goes far beyond installation. It’s about understanding how different systems perform, how they sit together visually, and how they behave under real-world conditions. Qudos Homes needed a partner who could manage a technically mixed package — Cero, Solarlux, Smarts, EcoFuture and Bygone — without compromise, without shortcuts, and without risking the design intent. That’s where we came in.

The pool elevation was the starting point, and the building demanded something extraordinary. The answer was Solarlux Cero III, a triple-glazed sliding wall spanning fifteen metres, finished at 2525mm high with floating corner posts.

The glass specification is consistent throughout the entire run, using ultra secure 8.8 / 6 / 8.8 laminated triple glazed units. The glass is not only engineered to withstand both both positive and negative wind loads after a full site-specific calculation. The entire project is designed to PAS24 Specification and Document Q for new build homes.

Solarlux Cero III sliding doors are top of the range, with meticulous attention to detail, technical superiority and flawless build quality. A home like this deserves the best sliding doors and there is no doubt Solarlux Cero is among the upper echelons of sliding doors. Solarlux sliding door promise the purest possible glass aesthetic with the engineering depth to back it up. And you choose an installer who understands exactly how these systems need to be handled. At CBP we have many years experience installing these precision made doors that need an equally precise installation.

Bygone Sash Windows

To the main house is a selection of premium uPVC windows from the Bygone Collection, arguably the most authentic timber-like sash windows in the UK today.

Also designed in a PAS 24 full specification, these windows come in a full timber-like grain, sash horns, period hardware and enhanced security safety glass.

Solarlux Ecoline Bifold Doors

Inside the home, the theme continues: generous proportions, long sightlines, and a consistent relationship with the landscape. The Solarlux Ecoline bifolds were selected for the rear living areas because they match Cero’s design philosophy — precision, slim frames, and a reassuring solidity when you use them. They provide the flexibility the homeowners needed without disrupting the quiet, contemporary architecture of the extension.

Large Picture Windows

Not every part of the home required a statement piece. Some areas needed reliability, consistency and strong thermal performance, so we used Smarts Alitherm 800 windows with 28mm double-glazed units. They frame the views cleanly and hold their own alongside the larger sliding systems. The picture window and Juliet balcony were created using EcoFuture tilt and turn technology paired with Q-Railing, giving the upper floor a simple, elegant opening without introducing unnecessary structural bulk.

At the front of the property, the character of the original house was preserved with Bygone timber-look sash windows. Mechanical joints, traditional proportions, but all the advantages of a modern system. Only the original building used these — a deliberate decision to keep the façade authentic while allowing the new extension to express itself in aluminium and glass.

New Front Door

The entrance door needed the same level of thought. A Smarts Designer Door, fully compliant with Document Q, provided the strength and security required for a new build, while maintaining a clean, understated look that suits the architecture.

Cero III Sliding Doors with Complementary Architectural Glazing

This incredible home features some our our best selling brands. All were chosen for their exceptional performance, functionality, quality and material texture.

The specification, detailing and installation were handled as one complete package. This isn’t something every installer can do. Large sliding walls like Cero, structural glass corners, mixed-system packages, wind load engineering, thermal requirements, new build compliance. Clients with fine homes demand the best possible products, supported by the correct technical information, being fit-for-purpose and giving years of reliability and ease of use. The type that only comes from years of delivering high-end residential glazing.

If you’re planning a home of this scale — or even a single elevation that demands more than an off-the-shelf solution — we’ll help you choose the right systems and install them to the standard they were designed for.
