Curtain Walling with Arched Roofline – Brinkworth, Swindon
This prominent unit stands out with its arched roof structure and fully glazed façade, featuring the MC Wall curtain walling system in RAL 7016 Matt. Designed to maximise natural light, the symmetrical frontage includes high-level glazing panels and integrated SmartWall commercial entrance doors, built for daily use and long-term durability.
The design is three separate curtain walling screens betweeen the brick piers. Each has an arched head design at the top in MC Wall curtain walling profiles. The benefit of using curtain walling is the consistent mullion and transom sightline throughout at just 55mm.
The central screen comprises thermally insulated commercial entrance doors with anti-finger trap hinge stiles, concealed overhead closers and threshold pivots, contrasting cranked D handles low DDA compliant threshold and meeting current Building Regulations for commercial buildings.
This prominent unit stands out with its arched roof structure and fully glazed façade and designed with high performance safety glass throughout, whilst maximising natural light.
Unit 10 – Brinkworth Business Park
Located nearby, Unit 10 features a more compact yet equally practical design. A curtain walling screen covers the entire structual opening, with commercial doors and inset casement windows below. Also powder coated in RAL 7016 Grey.
This particular building spans two floors therefore we’ve provided in aluminium insulated panel mid-section to hide the floor slab. This also provides a suitable fixing method. The top section of the screen is fixed-glazed throughout.
The lower section has a double set of commercial doors with two side panels. Above these are six top hung opening vents from our commercial aluminium windows range.
Again the doors are designed for high traffic use and meet BS8300 and Approved Document M of Building Regulations.
This installation is a perfect example of how aluminium systems can be adapted to accommodate structural variations while retaining a consistent, high-quality finish across a business park.
Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club
A larger-scale project, this new-build clubhouse, also used as function and meeting rooms, uses a gable-ended design with full-height curtain walling to the front elevation and two large return screens. Installed in a black powder-coated finish, the glazing creates an inviting and modern frontage for the club, combining impact and functionality.
Inset casement windows with trickle ventilation provides airflow when open and closed, whilst the high-specification safety glass with the insulated thermal barrier of the curtain walling screen provides great thermal performance all year round. A larger-scale project, this new-build clubhouse uses a gable-ended design with full-height curtain walling to the front elevation and two large return screens. Installed in a black powder-coated finish, the glazing creates an inviting and modern frontage for the club, combining impact and functionality.
The entrance doors at this project have very high demands placed on them, which is why only commercial doors are suitable for any building that is not a dwelling. Low thresholds, contrasting colour handles for the visually impaired, accessible, safe secure and with anti-finger trap hinge stiles to protect fingers and hands either side of the doors.
